David Eugene Filarski, age 59 of Joplin, Mo., passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin following an illness.
David was born on March 8, 1957 in Joplin, the son of Clement and Betty (Bischoff) Filarski. He has been a lifetime area resident. David worked as an operator at FAG Bearings for 25 years before his health forced him to retire.
He married Kathy Ball on October 18, 1980, she preceded David in death on November 1, 2007. He was also preceded by his mother, Betty. Survivors include his father; Clement Filarski of Joplin, two sons; Justin Filarski of Joplin, Kevin Filarski of Joplin, a brother; Rick Filarski and wife Jackie of Joplin, a sister; Clara Williams of Villa Rica, Ga., two granddaughters; Allison Filarski and Azella Filarski, father and mother-in-law; Gary, Sr. and Greta Ball of Diamond, Mo., brother-in-law; Gary Ball, Jr. of Diamond, and sister-in-law; Shelly Ball of Diamond.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2016 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. Burial will follow at Diamond Cemetery. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation from 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.
