Tracy D. Rushing, age 72, of Carthage passed away on Wednesday, June 8 at Mercy Hospital after battling cancer.
He was born in St. Joseph, MO, on June 16, 1943, to Franklin Dee and Bernadene (Stahlman) Rushing. He graduated from South Gate CA High School in 1961. He studied at Bethany Nazarene College and Pasadena Nazarene College.
Tracy married Terri Knell on July 5, 1997, in Carthage. She survives of the home. Tracy held his Song Evangelist Commission in the Church of the Nazarene for many years, and he had a passion for singing to bring people into a closer relationship with God. He was an active member of the Carthage Church of the Nazarene.
Additional survivors include son, Sidney Rushing of the home; daughters Rachelle (Simon) Menges of Lexington, KY, and Stacee Richardson of Olivehurst, CA; brothers-in-law George VanDyne of St. Charles, MO, and Kevin (Michelle) Knell of Conway, AR; 6 grandchildren; uncle Pete (June) Rushing of Sarcoxie; aunt Jeannette (Dallas) Hardison of FL; multiple cousins, nieces and nephews, and church family.
He was predeceased by his parents, his in-laws Bob and Doris Knell, brother- and sister-in-law Rob and Kathy Knell, and sister-in-law Debi (Knell) VanDyne.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 11, at 10:00 a.m. at Carthage Church of the Nazarene. Visitation will be held Friday, June 10, from 6-8:00 also at the church.
