Curtis Lee Weems, age 55, of Joplin, Mo passed away Monday June 6, 2016 at his home. He was born on June 16, 1960 in Carthage, Mo the son of George and Harriet “Brown” Weems. Curtis was self-employed as a Concrete Sculptor and was the President of the V.F.W Mens Auxiliary. Curt loved music and baseball. Curt’s motto was “I just want everyone to be happy.”
He was preceded in death by his father George Weems. Survivors include a son Curtis B. Weems, two daughters Kristan Spector of Little Rock, AR., and Heaven Weems of Joplin, Mo., his mother Harriet Bennett of Joplin, MO., a brother Doug Weems of Tulsa, Ok., a sister Melody Kuhn of Lake Wylie, Sc., four grandchildren and all extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday June 14, 2016 at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory with Keith Brumfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt Hope Cemetery Webb City, Mo. the family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm Sunday June 12, 2016 at the Mortuary.
