Clayton Aaron Lumpkins, age 46 of Joplin, Mo passed away Monday June 20, 2016 at his home. He was born on December 12, 1969 in Carthage, Mo. Clayton was very artistic and musical, playing the guitar and piano. He loved studying several different languages at the same time and enjoyed going to the museum in Kansas City. He was very thoughtful, caring and considerate for his family and friends, doing anything for anybody.
Clayton is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Arthur R. Tapley, and paternal grandparents Floyd and Helen Lumpkins. Survivors include his mother Barbara Melton of Joplin, Mo., two brothers: Craig Lumpkins and his wife Toni and their children Eric, David and Mariana of Lake Worth, Fl., and Clint Lumpkins and his wife Sandra and their children Mercedes, Justin, Megan and Connor, and great niece Penelope of Washington, D.C., maternal grandmother Janet Tapley of Carthage, Mo.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Friday June 24, 2016 at the First Presbyterian Church of Carthage, Mo with pastor Greg Esselman officiating. The family will receive friends immediately after the service. The family suggests contributions to the St. Jude’s Children Hospital in care of the Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
