Richard Ogle

Mr. Richard Wayne Ogle, 68, of Carthage, Missouri, departed this life on Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at St. Luke’s Care Center in Carthage, Missouri, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

Richard entered this life on November 29, 1947, in Carthage, Missouri, one of six sons born to the union of the late John Victor and Goldie May (Patterson) Ogle. He was a lifelong resident of Carthage, Missouri and a 1966 graduate of Carthage High School. He worked for City of Carthage as well as other places of employment throughout the Carthage area. He was a proud Boy Scout Leader for over twenty years, helping twelve young men reach the status of Eagle Scout. He was a member of Forest Park Baptist Church in Joplin, where he went on several mission trips to Mexico. He enjoyed being outdoors, was a talented craftsman and always looked forward to trips with his dear friends Vicki and Calvin Cassady.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Jimmy Ogle; and three brothers, Jackie, Gene and Jesse Ogle.

Richard is survived by his wife, Ida Faye Rhodes-Ogle of Clarksville, Tennessee; four children, Ric Ogle and wife, Christie, of Duenweg, Missouri, Chris Ogle of Carthage, Missouri, Josh Ogle of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Rashel Ogle of Carthage, Missouri; three stepsons, Shane Metz of Maple Valley, Washington, Eric Metz of Clarksville, Tennessee and Ryan Metz of Navarre, Florida; three grandchildren, Adam, Dalton and Alivia Ogle; two great grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; two brothers, David Ogle of Carthage, Missouri and Denny Ogle of Willow Springs, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

A graveside celebration will be held on Tuesday morning, June 28, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Fasken Cemetery north of Carthage, Missouri, with Pastor John Swadley officiating.
