Burton Leroy Lovell, age 75, Carl Junction, passed away at 10:15 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Freeman West Hospital after an illness.
Leroy was born October 30, 1940 in Cave Springs, Arkansas to the late William Edward Lovell, Sr. and Gladys Mae Douthitt Lovell and had lived in the Joplin area all of his life.
Leroy was a union laborer with the Local #319 for over 35 years. He enjoyed going to auctions and rummage sales and was a collector of many things.
Survivors include his children, Emmett Lovell, Carl Junction, Michele Lovell, Carl Junction, Rick Lovell, Carthage; two brothers, Henry Lovell and Vernon Lovell, both of Joplin; a sister, Mary Mitchell, Joplin; three grandchildren, Amanda, Joshua, Rebecca; and one great grandchild, Madilynn.
In addition to his parents, Leroy was preceded in death by two brothers, William E. Lovell, Jr and Robert Lovell and two sisters, Fannie Shively and Ida Harvell.
Graveside services are planned for Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Jeff D. Martin will officiate. Pallbearers will be Clay Lovell, Darren Shively, Glen Lovell, Cody Lovell, Adam Lovell and Dustin Shively. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-7:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
