Bob Martin D.D.S.

Dr. Bob E. Martin, 91, Joplin, died Sunday, June 5, 2016 after a short illness.

He was born May 20, 1925 to Ward and Gertrude Martin in New Franklin, Missouri. He moved to Joplin from Carthage in 1950. A graduate of UMKC Dental College, he was a Joplin dentist from 1953 until retiring in 1987. He was active in the American Dental Association, Missouri Dental Association, past president of the Southwest Missouri Dental Society, Lions Club, Jaycees and the Joplin Chamber of Commerce.

Dr. Bob was a veteran of World War II and POW, serving in the Battle of the Bulge.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers.

Survivors include a nephew, Phil Martin; niece, Susan Greenbaum; along with many great nephews, nieces, friends and extended family.

His wish was to not have a formal service, but to remember him and enjoy life.

Following cremation, Bob will be placed in the Garden of Faith at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.

Arrangements are under direction of Parker Mortuary.
