Teresa Brewer

Teresa Ann Brewer, age 52, of Joplin, Mo. passed away at 6:18 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2016 at her home following a courageous battle with cancer. 

Teresa was born October 11, 1963 in Miami, Ok. and had lived in Joplin since 1988. Teresa was a 1982 graduate of Miami High School, a 1984 graduate of N.E.O. College in Miami with a degree in Accounting, a 1988 graduate Ozark Christian College with a Bachelor’s degree in Theological Studies, and a 2000 graduate from MSSU with a Paralegal Associates Degree. Teresa was a proud member of the Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Wyandotte, Ok. For the last 14 years, Teresa was employed with Freeman Pediatric Partners. She previously worked as a paralegal for the Spencer, Scott, and Dwyer Law Firm. She was active in the Cornell-Beshore Cancer Institute Support Group. Teresa was a member of the College Heights Christian Church, a member of the Paralegal Society, the Notary Public Assoc. and was a volunteer for NALA. Teresa loved to travel, and cruise. Upon her early retirement she traveled to Las Vegas with her office co-workers for an all girls extravaganza. Teresa devoted her entire life to knowing Christ as her personal Savior. As she battled her cancer, she used Facebook as her witness for Christ. Even when the storms were encompassing her, she never lost sight of her prize of entering the pearly gates.

Teresa married Ronald A. Brewer April 13, 1991 in Joplin and he survives. Additional survivors include a daughter, Chloe Ann Brewer of the home, her Mother, Joyce Denman, Joplin, and one sister, Tina Hancock and husband Rick, Seneca, Mo. She was preceded in death by her Father, Richard Osburn.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 22nd at College Heights Christian Church with Randy Gariss, Minister, officiating. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Mortuary. Inurnment will be in the Osborne Memorial Cemetery Columbarium. Those honoring her life as pallbearers will be Gary Blevins, Mike Feese, Rick Hancock, Brandon Funk, Dan McCreary, and Jeremy Sponsel. Memorial contributions are requested to the Cornell-Beshore Cancer Institute in care of the Mortuary. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.
