(From Daniel Funeral Home)
Effie Mae Heiskell, age 80, of rural Golden City, Missouri, passed away early Wednesday morning, June 15, 2016, surrounded by her family at her home.
Effie Mae was born June 26, 1935, in Lamar, Missouri, the youngest of the twelve children of Elvage and Effie (Glenn) Duncan. A life-long area resident, she graduated from Golden City High School in 1954. On May 27, 1956, at Carthage, Effie Mae married Norman Heiskell and they recently celebrated 60 years of growing together in the Lord. In addition to being a devoted pastor’s wife, mother, and grandmother, Effie Mae was a natural, nurturing caregiver for family and friends. Many will remember her as their Stanley Products representative and her smile of greeting at a multitude of worship gatherings through the years. She was a woman of great faith who supported Norman and ministered to others through word and deed. A hospitable homemaker, Effie Mae loved to bake, enjoyed growing beautiful flower gardens, cherished time spent with her family and memories made over games of Skip-Bo with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Norman; a son, Kevin Heiskell, Jerico Springs; four daughters, Geneva Heiskell, Springfield, Cindy Smith, Neosho, Janice (Randy) Frazier, Chetopa, Kansas, and Lisa Sikes, Neosho; a daughter-in-law, Paula Heiskell, Jefferson City; three brothers, Tom Duncan, Lamar, John (Laura Mae) Duncan, Valley Center, Kansas, and Linley (Dorothy) Duncan, Springdale, Arkansas; 13 grandchildren, Dustin Heiskell, Charissa Lock, Aaron Heiskell, Zachary Smith, Gabrielle Smith, Drew Frazier, Marti Frazier, Faith Frazier, Silas Frazier, Olivia Frazier, Kyle Sikes, Victoria Sikes, and Lacy Heiskell; and five great-grandchildren, Braydon Smith, Aidan Frazier, Madalyn Frazier, Jude Frazier, and Lane Lock; as well as a multitude of extended family and friends.
