Donald “Don” Edward White, age 68, of Lamar, Missouri passed away Thursday, June 23, 2016, at Barton County Memorial Hospital.
Don was born November 15, 1947, at Arcola, Missouri to Parker and Mary Ella (Patton) White. He graduated Lamar High School 1965 and received an associate degree from Drury College. On December 23, 1976, he married Mary Kay Rogers and together they raised three children. In addition to a 35-year career with Lamar City Water Department, Don had worked for short periods of time at the Lamar Democrat, Barton County Ambulance, and O’Sullivan Industries. He gave back to his community through his 45 years of service as a Lamar Volunteer Fireman and was a representative for Missouri Water & Waste Water Management for nine years. Don was a member of Full Gospel Church of Lamar.
Survivors include his wife Mary Kay White; one son, Donald (Jennifer) White, Lamar; two daughters, Katrina (Keith) Aldridge, Lamar and Melinda (Ronald) Hanna, Joplin; one sister, Olthea June Stapp, Greenfield, Missouri; six grandchildren, Dustin (DeAnna) Rogers-White, Joy K. Aldridge, Mary Lynn Aldridge, Tyler James White, Skyler Michael White, Matthew Ryan Hanna; and one great-grandchild on the way. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceding him in death were his parents, one infant brother, Francis Eugene White; and two sisters, Pauline Bruffey, and Virginia Rudisill.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 28th at Daniel Funeral Home with burial to follow at Nigh Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 1:00 pm until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
