Benito “Ben” Munoz Martinez, age 38 of Diamond, Mo. passed away early Saturday, June 18, 2016, at his home surrounded by friends and family following a battle with cancer.
Ben was born on April 25, 1978 in Mangum, Ok., the son of Benito Martinez, Jr. and Elizabeth (Munoz) Escobedo. Ben worked as an overnight support manager at Wal-Mart. He loved fishing, gaming, riding his harley and spending time with his family.
Ben is survived by his parents, a son; Felipe Martinez of Granite, Ok., three daughters; Rose Marie and Desire Martinez both of Granite, Ok., and Ysabella Martinez of Joplin, Mo., three brothers; Abel Munoz of Mangum, Ok., Gilbert Munoz of Oklahoma City, Ok. and Armando Escobedo of Willow, Ok., a sister; Rachelle Munoz Gonzalez of Mangum, Ok., an aunt; Ester King of Willow, and by his grandparents; Frank and Mary Munoz of Leander, Tx. and Gilbert Montalbo of Willow. Ben was preceded in death by his grandmother, Juanita Montalbo, an uncle, Gonzalo Montalbo, and by his step-father, Armando Escobedo.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. Burial be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Willow Cemetery in Willow, Ok. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
