Anna Louis Bennett, age 75 of Joplin, Missouri passed away Sunday August 14, 2016 at her home following a sudden illness.
She was born July 8, 1941 in Joplin, Missouri to Paul and Gloria (Smith) Hicks.
Anna worked as an inspector for Eagle Picher, retiring in 2000. She loved to dance and was a very hard worker and a good mother and wife.
She married John Bennett on February 7, 1976 and he preceded her in death on February 11, 2000. On July 25, 2002 she married Fred Peters in Eureka Springs, Arkansas and he survives.
Anna is also survived by four daughters, Brenda Crane and husband Alan, Carl Junction, Missouri, Janice Hopkins, Alba, Missouri, Gay Lynn Davis, Joplin, Missouri, Kelly Bennett, Joplin, Missouri, three sons, Oscar Peters and wife Rose, Galena, Kansas, Johnny Bennett, Grove, Oklahoma, Gary Bennett and wife Shirley, Carl Junction, Missouri; 18 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren including a very special granddaughter Camrie Davis.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Bennett, one son, Melvin Duane Bridges, one brother, Paul Eugene Hicks II, and one sister, Jeanette Hicks.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at the Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary. Burial will follow at the Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 – 7:00 pm at the mortuary.
