Frances Schillinger

Frances Lanora Schillinger, 89, formerly of Neosho, Missouri, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2016 at Medicalodges in Eudora, Kansas after a short illness. She was born February 7, 1927 in Granby, Missouri to Frank and Nora (Mitchell) Lemons. She graduated from Desoto, Missouri High School in 1945. She married Kenneth Schillinger September 29, 1945 in Desoto, he preceded her in death on January 20, 2012. Her love of children led her to day care for many years and in 1975 she returned to school and earned a degree in Early Childhood Education. She then worked as a preschool director in Northglenn, Colorado. After retirement Frances and Ken traveled the United States in their RV and later settled in Pharr, Texas. They moved to the Neosho area in 2009 to be closer to family.

She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; one granddaughter, Ginger; one great grandson, Logan; and several brothers and sisters.

Frances is survived by four children, Mrs. Carol and Michael Williams of Sugar Land, Texas, Mrs. Brenda and Joe Franklin of Neosho, Missouri, Mrs. Cathy and Art Putnam of Columbia Falls, Montana and Daniel Schillinger of Lawrence, Kansas; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and a great-great granddaughter that is due in two weeks; and one brother, Eddie Davis of Louisiana; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

On Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. there will be a prayer at the funeral home followed by graveside service at Cave Springs Cemetery, Sarcoxie, Missouri with Reverend Darrel Brannen & Reverend Victory Taylor officiating. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family has requested contributions be made to the Activity Fund at Medicalodges Eudora, 1415 Maple Street, Eudora, Kansas in memory of Frances. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home, Sarcoxie, Missouri.
