Jerry Neil England, 79 of Joplin, Missouri, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Freeman Hospital following an extended illness.
Jerry was born January 26, 1937 to the late Walter England and Estelle Colling England in Denver, Colorado where he lived many years prior to coming to Joplin. Jerry loved to cook, learning at the age of 13 in a Chinese Restaurant. In 1963, Jerry started dealing in antiques which became a great passion. In 1969 he moved to Joplin and continued the antique business with his partner, Bob Mitchell. Jerry's true love was American Brilliant Cut Glass.
Surviving Jerry is his lifetime partner and business associate of 42 years, Bob Mitchell of the home; brother, Pat England and wife, Joan; sisters, Kay Gavito, Elaine Spahn, Diane Morley and husband, Bill, all of Denver, Colorado; sister in-laws, Patricia England and Peggy England, also of Denver; 9 nieces, 20 nephews and several great nieces and nephews; plus two furry children, Maggie and Precious.
Other than his parents, Jerry is also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
There are no services planned at this time and cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
