Jimmie Wayne Huffman, Jr., 47 of Joplin, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 11:20 p.m. at his home surrounded by his family following an extended illness.
Jimmie was born April 23, 1969 in Carthage, Missouri to Jimmie W. Huffman, Sr. and Jerrye Taft Thomas. He graduated from Webb City High School with the class of 1987. Jimmie worked for Bemis Flexible Packaging for 16 years prior to retiring due to health issues. Jimmie was a master mechanic by all who knew him and loved just being outdoors either working in the yard or his shop. He was a member of Cornerstone Church of Carterville.
On July 1, 2007, Jimmie married Hallie Cleveland in Carterville and she survives of the home.
Additional survivors include his father, Jimmie Huffman, Sr. of Carterville; mother, Jerrye Thomas of Carthage; son, Austin Huffman of the home; daughter, Chelsie Rickey and husband, Cody of Carthage, Shelbie Huffman of Joplin; step son, Brayden Carey of the home; brothers, Billy Thomas of Webb City, Jessie Thomas and wife, Kimberly of Alba, John Huffman of Carterville; sisters, Kellie Thomas of Joplin and Jamie Huffman of Carterville; grandchildren, Paityn, Laikyn and Tailyn.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his step father, Calvin Thomas.
Funeral services are planned for Tuesday, August 23 at 10:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Church in Carterville. Family will receive friends on Monday from 6-8:00 p.m. also at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to "The Kids and Grandkids of Jimmie W. Huffman, Jr." in care of the mortuary.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
