Sandra J. Kittrell, age 83 of Joplin went to be with our Lord on August 14, 2016 at 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning at the Carthage Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Sandra was born August 15, 1932 in Smithfield, Missouri. The family moved to Carl Junction when she was 18 where she graduated at Carl Junction High School. She worked at the Carl Junction Shirt Factory for many years and was a member of Carl Junction's First Baptist Church.
Sandra loved to travel with her friends, even going to Hawaii on one of her many trips. Sandra also took her nieces, Donna and Dina, to Dog Patch USA. She loved to sew, making beautiful quilts. Sandra also collected salt and pepper shakers, angels and porcelain dolls.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mollie P. Cantrell-Kittrell; father, Spencer G. Kittrell; brother, Robert M. Kittrell and a niece, Diana M. Kittrell-Kilbane.
Surviving Sandra are a brother, Harlen Kittrell and his wife, Mary Pat; their children, Jeff Kittrell and his wife, Jenny, Scott Kittrell, Beth Kittrell-Cunningham (Brian Timm), Ben Kittrell and his wife, Rhianna; sister in-law, Bonnie Kittrell; her children, Debbie Kittrell, Donna Kittrell-Curry, Dina Kittrell-Vail; many great nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 19 at 10:00 a.m. at Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri with family receiving friends on Thursday from 6-7:00 p.m. also at the mortuary. Burial to follow service at Carl Junction Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
