Tom Phillips

Tommy C. “Tom” Phillips, age 65, of Joplin, passed away on Saturday August 20, 2016, at Freeman Hospital, following an illness, surrounded by his family.

Tom was born on February11, 1951 in Polo, Mo., the son of the late Buford and Bernice (Misner) Phillips. He served in the United States Navy and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked as a truck driver for many years for TDC. He was a Baptist. He enjoyed woodworking in his younger years, fishing and Nascar.
Tom married Charlene (Quillin) Phillips and together they raised three daughters. She preceded him in death on September 3, 2003.

He married Annita Evans Phillips on June 5, 2004 and she survives. Additional survivors include; three daughers, Terri Wilkins and husband Charles, Oronogo, Mo., Pam Frisinger and husband Dan, Joplin, and Debbie Phillips and Jeff, Neosho, Mo.; three step-sons, Joey Weems and wife, Cristen, Stella, Mo., Billy Weems and wife Shelly, Goodman, Mo., and Jayson Weems and wife Jessica, Joplin; three sisters, Joyce Bolte and Carolyn Britton and husband Edward, all of Omaha, Ne., and Lois Parks, Joplin; seventeen grandchildren, Danielle, Cody, Paul, Matt, Dustin, Kelsey, James, Dylana, Nina, Logan, Coy, Sierra, Bradan, Sammy, Abby, Harmony, Maddi, and Sydney; and three great-grandchildren, Marshall, Myla, and Jaxson. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Dale. Bob, and Bill Phillips.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at Oak Grove Baptist Church.
