Florine B. Stapp, of Greenfield, MO, departed this life on Saturday, August 20, 2016, in the Dade County Nursing Home at the age of 91 years.
She was born on April 16, 1925 in Lockwood, MO to Wilbur B. and Mary “Pearl” (McCulley) Hodgson. Florine graduated from Lockwood High School. She was united in marriage to Waldo “Happy” Stapp Jr. on June 29, 1943 in Mt. Vernon, MO. Florine was a member of the Greenfield United Methodist Church for 70 plus years. She was wonderful homemaker, and retired as a Librarian after twenty years of service.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Wilbur and Pearl Hodgson; her husband, Happy Stapp; three brothers, Lewis Hodgson, Bill Hodgson, and infant Joe Hodgson; and two sisters, Helen Clements and Mary Kemp.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy McGuire and her husband Larry of Greenfield, MO and Betty Vandegrift and her husband Doug of Cleveland, MO; five grandchildren, Angela Lacy, Annette Black, Dallas McGuire, Kirk Vandegrift, and Jared Vandegrift; twelve great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2016, in Lockwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in Greenfield Funeral Chapel.
