Donna Lee Diehl Roehling, age 81, passed away at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at a local care facility.
She was born June 18, 1935 at the former Jane Chinn Hospital in Webb City to the late Leo Diehl and Imogene Finley Diehl Foster.
She graduated from Joplin High School in 1953; Joplin Junior College in 1955 and Missouri Southern State University in 1980.
She worked for Empire District Electric Company for forty years, retiring as secretary of the engineering department.
Donna was baptized in the South Joplin Christian Church and was presently a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she served as an elder, was past president of the local Presbyterian Women and sang in the choir until her health forced her to quit.
Donna was past president of the local chapter of A.A.V.W. and past president of the local chapter of Pilot Club International. For many years, she was an active member of the Freeman Health System Auxiliary, serving in many capacities, including recording secretary of the board.
Donna is survived by her husband, Dr. William Roehling, whom she married on October 28, 1961; two cousins, Richard Diehl and his wife, Anne, Nixa, Missouri, Beth Hickman; many cousins-in-law; a one of a kind holiday group, and a host of friends.
Friends may call at Parker Mortuary until 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2016.
Private graveside services will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church of Joplin, with a visitation to follow. Dr. Dave Burgess and Dr. Colleen Carroll will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, South Joplin Christian Church or to the Freeman Health System Auxiliary, all in care of Parker Mortuary.
