Mrs. Mary Malinda Ragland, 97, of Goodman, Missouri, departed this life on Friday, August 26, 2016, at her residence after a brief illness.
Mary entered this life on November 11, 1918, in Stella, Missouri, one of three daughters born to the late Rufus Henry and Lillie Sealy (Beavers) England. She was a lifelong area resident. On May 7, 1943, she was united in marriage to Herbert Ragland and together they shared thirty-nine years before his passing on July 13, 1982. For several years she and Herbert owned and operated Ragland Bag Company located in Goodman. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting and reading her Bible. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Goodman, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herbert Ragland; and a sister, Neomi England.
Mary is survived by two sisters, Verlie Spears of the state of California and Minnie Gibson and husband, Owen, of Anderson, Missouri; one niece; four nephews; several great and great-great nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held graveside at Peace Valley Cemetery in Anderson, Missouri, on Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. with Bro. Frank Crosby officiating.
