Paul Joseph “Pooh” Johnston, age 51, Neck City, Missouri, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2016 at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri after a lengthy illness.
Paul was born February 4, 1965 in Joplin, son of the late Ronald D. Johnston and Barbara Bartz Johnston. He grew up in Neck City, and worked for many years at Boyd Metals before retiring due to ill health. He enjoyed cooking, especially smoking meats, and was very fond of his pets.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by a brother, David "Tobby" Johnston.
Survivors include his brother, Michael Johnston and wife Eloise of Joplin, nieces and nephews, Joshua, Jake, and Grace Johnston, several aunts and uncles including Janice Lashmet and Susan Doris both of Neck City, Russell Bartz of Minneapolis, Minn. ; many cousins.
Graveside services will be held at a later date with family officiating. Inurnment will take place in Friends Cemetery, Purcell, Missouri.
Parker Mortuary is in charge of cremation arrangements.
