Muriel Maxine LeGrand, age 82, of Lamar, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Truman Healthcare Center.
Maxine was born January 24, 1934 in Newport, Missouri to Charles Abner and Grace Elizabeth (Brines) Wilkins. She graduated high school and on December 13, 1952, she married William Lee “Billy” LeGrand and together they raised five children. Billy preceded her in death, April 12, 2007. She was a member of Newport Baptist Church and was a farm wife, helping her husband raise crops and cattle.
Maxine leaves behind three sons, Billy LeGrand, Matthew LeGrand, and James LeGrand, all of Lamar; two daughters, Debra LeGrand and Shelly LeGrand, also of Lamar; and two grandchildren, Chase LeGrand of Lamar and Alexis LeGrand of Mulberry, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Charles Wilkins and Carl Wilkins; and one sister, Selma Clawson.
A memorial service will be announced for a later date. She will be buried next to her husband in Newport Cemetery.
