Mary Neeley

Mary Ann Barrett Neeley, age 76, of Columbus, died Sunday, August 7, 2016.

Mary was born to Floyd Eli and Agnes McCormick on December 31, 1939 in Galena, Kansas. She married Dalton “Wayne” Neeley at the Columbus Assembly of God on May 19, 1956, and they spent many of their years together in Columbus. He survives. She spent most of her as a homemaker, though she was employed by Glenbury Manufacturing for over 10 years as a seamstress as well. She was a member of the Columbus Assembly of God. Genealogy, and reading were among her favorite hobbies, and she was a strong supporter of the Columbus Library.

Also surviving are two daughters: Beverly Hess (husband Gale) of Chetopa, KS and Debra Johnson of Oronogo, MO; two sons: Robert Neeley (wife Sharon Thomas) of Olney, TX, and Victor Neeley (fiancé Keli Huston) of Augusta, KS; five siblings: Leroy Barrett of Columbus, Marvin Barrett of Columbus, Marge (husband Calvin) of Mound Valley, KS, Bill Barrett (wife Bettie) of Wichita, KS, and Janice Reynolds (husband Edward) of Altamont, KS; 10 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law: Rick Johnson, and sister-in-law: Lorna (Hale) Barrett.

Funeral Services will be held in the chapel at Derfelt Funeral Home of Columbus, KS, at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 13, 2016. Pastor Robert Blake will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:00-7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Columbus Assembly of God or the Columbus Library.
