Louis "Corky" George, age 86 of Webb City, Missouri passed away Wednesday August 17, 2016 at his home with family by his side.
He was born January 30, 1930 in Webb City, Missouri to Fred and Daisy (Ginn) George.
Corky served in the United States Navy. He owned and operated Corky's Electric for many years as well as being the the electrical inspector for the city of Webb City. He could fix and repair just about anything. Corky was a member of the NRA and the Joplin Rifle and Pistol Club.
He married Wanda Shirk on October 31, 1953 in Joplin, Missouri and she survives. Also surviving are two sons, Robert George and wife Katheryn, Carterville, Missouri, Craig Woodmanse, California; one daughter, Lisa Bishop and husband Ron, Joplin, Missouri; four grandchildren, Katrina Royle and husband Zeb, Kelly Gladney, David Bishop and wife Ashley, Heather Woodmanse-Watley; seven great grandchildren; one sister, Kay Robinson and husband Tom, Jefferson City, Missouri, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Corkey was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Freddie George.
Following Corky's wishes he will be cremated and no formal services will be held.
