James Sacanne

James Saccanne, 88, of Pittsburg, passed away at 8:27 a.m., Wednesday, August 10, 2016. 

He was born January 30, 1928, at Ringo, KS, to Lewis Albert and Lillie (Halliday) Saccanne, Sr. James served in the United States Army during World War II, before being Honorably Discharged. He was united in marriage to Esther. She preceded him in death. James was a machinist for McNally's and Dickey Clay in Pittsburg before his retirement. He had recently attended the Bethany Presbyterian Church, Joplin, MO. Membership was held in the Mirza Shrine, Pittsburg, where he drove for the Shriner's Kids. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge. 

James is survived by one brother, Lewis A. Saccanne, Jr., of Joplin, MO, four nieces, Kim, Cindy, Carol and Debbie and several great nieces and nephews and several great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Robert Saccanne, George Saccanne and Charles Saccanne, two sisters, Mildred Saccanne and Maurine Saccanne, and three nephews, Walter Saccanne, Curtis Saccanne and Billy Saccanne. 

A service for James is set for 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 15, 2016, at the Brenner Mortuary, Pittsburg, with Reverend Rodney Peters conducting the service. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Pittsburg. Masonic Rites will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Monday, prior to the service at the funeral home. The family will receive friends following the Masonic Rites until service time. Friends may call at the funeral home to sign the register book after 10:00 a.m., Saturday. The family suggests memorials to the Shriner's Transportation Fund. These may be left at or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 East 4th St., Pittsburg, KS 66762.
