Mary Lee Ingram, age 85, Joplin, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, May 2, 2018, with her husband by her side.
Mary was born October 14, 1932, in Benton County, Arkansas; the daughter of the late Arthur and Genevieve (Brown) Wade.
Mary married her beloved John E. Ingram in Springdale AR, October 10, 1949. She and John owned and operated River Street Market in Carthage, MO. She found satisfaction working as a dietary supervisor at Freeman Hospital. They were happiest working side by side. Mary loved cooking for and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, John; one son, Chuck Ingram and wife Terry; two sisters, Patricia Layman and Donna Cavender; three grandchildren, Amy (Matthew) Stemm, Amanda (Aloys) Stacklin, and John Ingram II; six great-grandchildren Chase, Samuel, Madison, Amelia, Annaliese and Seth.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one son, John A. Ingram and two sisters, Helen Darnell and Doris “Toby” Hatfield. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 7, 2018, at Parker Mortuary with Pastor Boyce Mouton, officiating. Burial will follow in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m., Sunday, May 6, at Parker Mortuary.
The family would also like to offer a special ‘thank you’ to Mercy Hospice staff for their compassionate care.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
