Jo Baum, 91, of Parsons, passed away at 3:05 p.m., Monday, May 1, 2018 at her home. She had been in failing health.
She was born on December 5, 1926 at Parsons to Ike and Emily (Walker) Titsworth. She grew up at Parsons and attended Parsons schools graduating from Parsons High School in 1944.
She and Herbert L. “Herb” Baum were united in marriage on November 17, 1945 at Parsons. He preceded her in death on May 30, 2012.
She was a homemaker and later worked as an assistant manager at the Parsons Middle School cafeteria. She retired in 1985.
She was a Brownie scout leader, Cub scout leader, Sunday school teacher, and a home room teacher. She enjoyed raising indoor and outdoor flowers. She loved her family dearly and always put her children first.
She was a faithful member of the Foursquare Church in Parsons where she was a door greeter and provided food for various church activities.
She is survived by two sons, David Baum, and his wife Nancy of Mountain Home, AR and Dan Baum, and his wife, Kay of Neosho, MO; her daughter, Vickie Elliott, and her companion, Charlie Dodds, Jr. of Parsons; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; one brother, Larry Titsworth of Oklahoma.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandchild, Sara Jo Elliott; a brother, Harold Titsworth and a sister, Peggy Banzet.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, May 4, 2018 at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home with Pastors David Keaton and Florence Espeseth officiating. Burial will follow in the Oswego Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. Friday until service time at the funeral home.
