Steve Paugh, 61, passed away Sunday, April 29 in Katy, Texas after an 8-month battle with brain cancer.
Steve was born to Bob and Lila Paugh of Carthage, Missouri, on August 1, 1956. Steve grew up in Carthage and earned an accounting degree from the University of Missouri in 1978.
Steve met the love of his life, Marilyn, in 1979, and the two married on December 6, 1980, in North Kansas City, Missouri. They moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma the next year where Steve began a 35-year career with CITGO Petroleum. In the 24 years in Tulsa, they were blessed with three sons who were the joy of Steve's life. Moving to Katy, Texas in 2005 Steve continued to work for CITGO up until his retirement in the spring of 2016. Steve enjoyed coaching his sons' little league baseball teams and was a loyal fan to his Missouri Tigers and Houston Astros. He adored his granddaughter, Lydia, and traveled to Arkansas for every one of her school plays. Steve was a deacon of Parkview Baptist Church of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and was a member of Kingsland Baptist Church of Katy, Texas, at the time of his death.
Steve is survived by his wife of 37 years, Marilyn; by his sons Eric, Mark and Alex (Abigail); one granddaughter, Lydia; his mother, Lila; his brother, Mike; and many other friends and family members.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Fasken Cemetery in Carthage, Missouri, under the direction of the Knell Mortuary.
