Wesley E. Brewer, age 61, of Webb City, MO passed away at 9:35 p.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at his home. Wes was born March 22, 1957 in Afton, Oklahoma and had lived in Webb City since 1995. He was the owner/operator of Skateland of Webb City, where he was the life of the party with his madcap DJ personality and well known as the “chicken dance-man”! He was previously a financial district manager for Norwest Financial, and during his high school and college years Wes worked for Lee’s Steak House in Joplin, as the restaurant manager. He was also a 1975 graduate of Memorial High School in Joplin and a 1979 graduate of MSSU with a BS degree in Business Administration. Wes holds track records at North Middle School, Memorial Jr. and High School, till this day.
Wes married Marti Keethler August 29, 1981 in Joplin and she survives. Additional survivors include three sons, Wesley Eugene Brewer II, Sulphur Springs, TX , John Newton Brewer (Melissa), Carl Junction, and Andrew Manning Brewer (April), Joplin, his parents, Durward and Donna Brewer, Neosho, two brothers, Donald F. Brewer (Audrey), Pottsboro, TX, and Gary Brewer, Miami, Ok. one sister, Catherine Stockton, Neosho, and six grandchildren, Easton, Maison, Chloe, Madison, Mason, and Madison. He was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Paul Reed Brewer, August 24, 2011.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Christ’s Church of Oronogo with Ken Ansley, Minister, officiating. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Mortuary. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.
