Kay Porfiri

(From Fohn Funeral Home)

Evelyn “Kay” Profiri, age 64, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at her home.

She was born August 21, 1954 in Harlingen, Texas, the daughter of Gordon Edwin Davis Jr. and Vonna (Smale) Davis. On March 30, 1974, she was united in marriage to Stan Profiri, who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Andie Eschbacher and son-in-law Joe of Joplin, Missouri and two grandchildren, Sadie April and Simon Jack Eschbacher.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Kay was a devoted wife, loving mother & grandmother, and loyal friend. Although she lived most of her life in Illinois and Missouri, she was a Texan at heart. She was born in Harlingen, raised in Corpus Christi, and attended college at Texas A&I University in Kingsville where she met her husband, Stan Profiri.

She was a beautiful spirit with a smile that lit up a room. She loved to travel, and was blessed to see many wonderful places, including countless beaches, New York City, Europe & South Africa.

She valued spending time with close friends and family above all else. Her Christmas parties were legendary—she knew how to bring people together. She also loved boating at Table Rock Lake, snow skiing, and playing cards with friends.

She was a woman of strong faith, and enjoyed worshipping, bible studies, and volunteering for her church in Joplin.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2019 at Fohn Funeral Home in Shell Knob, Missouri. Pastor Chris Sloan will conduct the services. Burial will be at Lake Park Memorial Gardens in Shell Knob.

Contributions may be made to Siteman Cancer Center, St. Louis in memory of Kay.
