Cheryl J. Poindexter, age 72, formerly of Carthage, passed away on Saturday September 28, 2019, at her home , following a long illness.
Cheryl was born on June 17, 1947 in Webb City, MO., the daughter of the late, Reverend Harry Dell and Maxine Hegwer Sterling. She worked at Elders Manufacturing in Webb City and then over twenty years for Motorola as a Supervisor, and then for Gilster-Mary Lee retiring when she became ill in 2009.
She married Jessie Poindexter on September 18, 1964 in Carterville, Mo., he survives. Additional survivor’s include two sons, Dell Poindexter and his wife Jill of Oronogo, Mo., and David Poindexter of Webb City, Mo. Three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial visitation will be at 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. Thursday October 3, 2019 with her Memorial service following at 6 p.m. at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. David Shoemaker and Kelly Tate will officiate.
The family has requested memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
