Betty Lou (Jackson) Joyce, age 87, Joplin, passed away at 7:23 a.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at The Communities of Wildwood Ranch.
Betty was born January 26, 1928 in Galena, Kansas to the late Claude P. Rosenberry and Zora Jane Sweet Rosenberry and had lived in Joplin since 1946.
Betty worked in quality control as an inspector for LaBarge, Inc., retiring in 1988 after 19 years of service. She was a faithful member of Fellowship Baptist Church and the Lydia Sunday School Class. Betty was also active with the Prestige League; VFW Auxiliary; Freeman Advantage and the Jasper County Election Board.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence C. Jackson in 1972; her second husband, Billy Ray Joyce in 2007; infant son, Michael Lee Jackson; sister, Claudine Heistand; and a daughter-in-law, Ilona.
Survivors include three sons, Mark Jackson and his wife, Tameesha, Joplin, Ron Jackson and his wife, Becky, Lawson, MO, Don Jackson, Joplin; two daughters, Susan Ring and her husband, Cliff, El Dorado Springs, MO, Melody Neilan and her husband, Scott, Shawnee, Kansas; step children, Betty Ray Cox, Priscilla Mullen, Cheri Phair, Jennifer Perez; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Services are planned for Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Rex Wakefield will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until service time at the church.
