She was born on November 19, 1921 in Joplin the daughter of William Henry and Anna Casey Hillburn Vantreasa. She married David Isbell on August 8, 1938 in Joplin, he preceded her in death on April 26, 1974. Catherine was a homemaker raising her children and later worked for Freeman Hospital in housekeeping. She was a very active member of the Royal Heights Baptist Church. She also enjoyed going to the casino.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, three sons: David, Jim and Ben Isbell; sis brothers Alfred, Dutch, Herb, B, Dale and Bill Vantrease; two sisters: Elda Watson and Dorothy Watson-Wilkins. Survivors include two sons John Isbell of Stockton, MO and Tim Isbell of Russellville, Ar a daughter Sandy Potter of Joplin, fourteen grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday January 29, 2015 at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory with Jack Daniels and Tom Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm Wednesday at the Mortuary. The family suggests contributions to Hospice Compassus in care of the mortuary.
