Harriet Sue Brunkow, age 71 of Joplin, passed away at her home at 5:55 p.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2015.
Born March 8, 1943 in Kansas City, KS, she was the daughter of the late Harry Conrad and Myra Jean Oppenlander Conrad and had lived in Joplin the past 24 years. A homemaker and machinist, she had worked for Cardinal Scale in Webb City and M&M Machine Shop in Carthage. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
On April 18, 1975, she married Robert (Bob) Brunkow in Wakefield, KS. He survives.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Lynda Sitzler of St. Augustine, FL; grandson, Robert Ellifrits; and a sister, Joyce Houston of Kansas City, KS.
Preceding her in death were a son, Walter Zygarlenski in 2008; and two sisters, Sharon Schlecta and Vera Jean (Jeannie) Norris.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Parker Chapel with Pastor Bruce Allen officiating. Interment will follow in Goss Cemetery, northwest of Mount Vernon. The family will receive friends preceding the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
