Sharon Kay Hagood, age 71, Neosho, passed away at 11:02 a.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Mercy Hospital after an illness.
Sharon was born September 14, 1943 in Kiowa County, Kansas to the late Claude Kendall and Bessie Glenn Kendall.
She grew up in Greensburg, Kansas and then moved to Clinton, Oklahoma where she became a hair dresser. She enjoyed playing softball and coaching her daughter Christy and son, Danny. Later she took up golf which she continued to play for many years.
Sharon moved to Neosho where she met Bob on the golf course and became best friends. She worked for Walmart in Neosho until she retired and they moved to the lake in Wyandotte. Over two years ago, they moved back to Neosho to be closer to family. Her friends described Sharon as a “bundle of sunshine”, the crazy and silly things she did made everyone smile.
Sharon married Robert Hagood on October 31, 1990 in Benton County, Arkansas. He survives at the home.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Christy Brooks, London, Arkansas, Barbara Snow and her husband, Mike, Neosho; two sons, Bob Hagood, Pioneer, Missouri, Danny Hendrix, Clinton, Oklahoma; three sisters, Claudine Reames and her husband, Mick, Paris, Arkansas, Betty Fredrick, Ft. Smith, Arkansas, Gayla Richards and her husband, Jeff, Garden City, Kansas; one brother, Sam Kendall and his wife, Jayna, Pratt, Kansas; three grandchildren, Josh Brooks, London, Arkansas, Jeff Snow and his wife, Kayla, Omaha, Nebraska, Valerie Snow and her husband, Jesse, New York, New York; one great grandchild due in June; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Sharon’s Life is planned for Saturday from 2-4:00 p.m. at the Shriner’s Building, 13167 Laura Lane, Neosho, Missouri.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
