Jack Lee Wescott, 82, Joplin, MO passed into eternal rest at 8:30 AM, January 2, 2015 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin after an illness.
Jack was born May 27, 1932 in Picher, OK. He was the son of Marion and Jewell (Thomas) Wescott. Jack graduated from Seneca High School in 1952 where he was the President of his class and a member of the Seneca High School Football Team. He formerly owned and operated a donut shop in Duquesne, MO and the former Spots Liquor Store in Reding's Mill. Jack also formerly worked as a Boiler Operator at Teledyne in Neosho, MO and was very proud to be a school bus driver for the Joplin R8 School District. Jack was a Korean War veteran serving in the US Navy serving on a US Navy destroyer. He sweetheart Betty JoAnn Plummer and she preceded him in death as well as one son Jack Lee Wescott, Jr.
Survivors include; two daughters, Sherry Rimar and husband Mike and Connie Bartlett and husband Doug both of Joplin; brothers and sisters: Joyce Enders, Tulsa, OK, Jim Wescott, Bella Vista, AR and Danny Wescott, Hemet, CA, Juanita Henderson, Tracy, CA, Arretta Tyler, Woodbridge, CA and Dan Wescott, Sun City, CA; grandchildren; Michelle, Sarinda, Shannon, Jody, Jerimia and Jamie as well as 14 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM, January 26, 2015 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca.
The body has been taken for cremation.
