Beulah Faye Ewers, 87, of Lamar, MO, passed away January 10, 2015 at Barton County Memorial Hospital. She had been ill for several months.
Beulah was born in Grant County, OK on November 1, 1927 to Paul Boehm and Hazel Marie (Lane) Boehm. She graduated from Nash High School and was a member of the First Christian Church. She attended Oakton United Methodist Church until her health declined.
She married T.J. Ewers of Nash, OK on July 12, 1946 at El Dorado, KS. They moved to a farm in Barton County, MO in June 1947.
Beulah was a true farm wife in every sense of the word. She raised chickens and canned a big garden for her family. She had a talent for making pear honey and wild cherry jelly. Beulah loved her flower gardens, her favorite flower being the Iris. She also enjoyed piecing quilt tops and various assorted handiwork.
After the death of her husband, she left the farm she and T.J. loved and moved to Lamar in 1994.
Surviving are a son David Ewers and his wife Linda of Lamar; a daughter Patricia Nixon and her husband Bill, of Lamar; one granddaughter, Amanda Burr and her husband Chris, of Irwin, MO; two great-granddaughters, Hailey and Desirae.
Beulah was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, T.J. in 1991; three sisters, Beatrice Callahan, Helen Howard, and Katherine Mae Boehm, and two brothers Vernon Lee Boehm and Melvin Paul Boehm who was stillborn.
Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at Daniel Funeral Home with burial to follow at Iantha Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 7:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
Contributions are suggested to the National Kidney Foundation or Barton County Memorial Hospital Memorial Fund in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
