Henry “Cleve” Leonard, age 87, of Webb City, Mo. passed away at 1:55 a.m. Friday, January 23, 2015. Cleve was born September 29, 1927 in Webb City, Mo., the son of Thomas C. Leonard and Ruby Anderson Leonard. He was a lifelong Webb City resident. He graduated from Webb City High School in 1946 and remained an avid Webb City Cardinal Football fan. He served his country in the U. S. Army 82nd Airborne Division during WW II. He was a member of the Webb City American Legion Post 322. He was a Baptist. Cleve was employed with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 36 years, retiring in 1987 as a PBX installer.
Cleve married Jo Steele October 15, 1955 in Fayetteville, Ar. and she survives. Additional survivors include two sons, Scott Leonard and wife Jeanne, Webb City, and Carey Leonard and wife Carol, Loma Linda; a brother, Bob Leonard, Columbia, Mo.; a sister, Bonnie Jones, Fayetteville, Ar.; four grandchildren, Zach Leonard and wife Tabatha, Chelsey Parise and husband Jimmy, Julia Marshall and husband Matt, and Michael Leonard and wife Maria; and eight grandchildren, Laken, Madisen, Marcie, Matthew, Ryder, Adriana, Jo, and Michael Jr. Cleve was preceded in death by two brothers Dick and Ben Leonard.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Mt. Hope Open Air Chapel with Mike Geisert, Minister, officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Scott Leonard, Zach Leonard, Cody Stone, Chelsey Parise, Jimmy Parise, Michael Leonard and Matt Marshall. The family will receive friends at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hedge-Lewis Funeral Home of Webb City, Mo.
