Steve Funderburk

Steve Funderburk, age 74, of Greenfield, Mo., passed away on Wednesday December 31, 2014, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Mo., following an illness.

 Steve was born on February 17, 1940 in McAlester, Ok., the son of the late George and Mable (Seale) Funderburk. He married Nancy Dickenson on July 14, 1958 in Wagoner, ok. Together they raised a family of four children. He received his Master’s degree in Zoology from Oklahoma State University. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tahlequah, Ok. He worked for the United States Government as an FBI Agent retiring in 1988, following twenty-five years of service. He was a member of the S.W. Missouri Bass Club and the Society of the Former Special Agents of the FBI. 

He is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Nancy Funderburk, Greenfield, Mo.; two sons, Matt Funderburk and wife Stacey, Ozark, Mo. and Mark Funderburk and wife Kelli, Nixa, Mo.; and one daughter, Lisa Carlton and husband Damon, Topeka, Ks.; one brother, Ronald Funderburk and wife Betty, Tulsa, Ok.; six grandchildren, Dray, Devin, Stephanie, Bethanie, Matthew, and Benjamin. Steve was preceded in death by his son, Stephen, and by a sister, Jane Allen. 

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Steve’s sons and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends 2-3 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be given to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in care of the mortuary.
