Doris Jean Stevens, age 77 of Oronogo, Missouri passed away Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Freeman Hospital following a short illness.
Doris was born November 1, 1937 to the late Raymond England and Myrtle Mae Kenney England in Joplin and has lived in the area her entire life. She was a homemaker, raising her eight kids.
On August 11, 1955, she married Jim Lee Stevens in Joplin. He preceded her in death in 1994. Also preceding her in death were daughters, Bonnie Stevens, infant and Peggy Cooper; son, Jimmy Stevens; grandson, Kyle Miller and great-grandson, Byron Stevens plus seven siblings.
Surviving Doris are five daughters, Linda Johnson of Webb City, Connie Miller and husband, Rick of Carthage, Mary Michaud and husband Phillip of Joplin, Cindy Nally of Joplin and Misty Seeley and husband Rick of Oronogo; 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends that will miss her.
Services for Doris are planned for Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Parker Mortuary. Interment will follow at Osborne Memorial Cemetery in Joplin.
Those serving as pallbearers are Bobby Cooper, Randy Stevens, Rick Seeley, Nathan Ayon, Rick Miller and Justin Howerton.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
