David Sanders

David G. Sanders passed away January 16, 2015 in Carthage, MO. 

He was born September 22, 1933 in Carthage, MO to Carl F. Sanders and Ida Mae (Peck) Sanders. He was a member of Carthage High School class of 1952 and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University 1956. He joined the family business of Sanders Grain Inc. after graduating from university and became president and CEO in 1980 until the business sold in 2001. David was the president of Allied Industries, a division of Arkansas Poultry Federation, president and director of the Carthage YMCA, member of the Carthage Chamber of Commerce, member (10 years) and president (14 years)of McCune Brooks Hospital Board of Trustees, board of director and member of Rotary International, and is a Paul Harris Rotary Fellow as of 1964, member of the Carthage R-9 School board, member of the First United Methodist Church and served as chairman of finance committee for rebuilding the sanctuary, United Missouri Bank board of director for 30 years. 

David was united in marriage to Betty Joanne Ross June 17, 1956 in Carthage, MO. She survives. David is survived by three daughters Elizabeth Brown and husband Ron of Grove, OK, Sarah Turner and husband Ross of Grove, OK. and Rebecca Huckstep and husband Dean of Carthage, MO. Eight grandchildren: Meghan Bowser (Ben) of Shenzhen, China, Ross Brown of Kansas City, MO, Joshua Turner of Carthage, MO, Zachary Turner of Burlington, Vermont, Drake Huckstep, Claudia Huckstep, Silas Huckstep and Ayla Huckstep all of Carthage, MO. David is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Nadine Maddox and Carlene Davis, and one brother James C. Sanders. 

Memorial services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday January 27, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church with Pastor James Lee officiating the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the United Methodist Church in care of Ulmer Funeral Home. Online condolences can be made at www. ulmerfh.com.
