Tom Lee, age 65, passed away early Thursday morning, January 15, 2015 at Brookhaven Health and Rehabilitation Center in Springfield where he had been a resident the past nine months.
Tommy was born September 23, 1949, in Lamar, the younger of the two sons of Floyd and Helen (Shaw) Lee. A life-long Barton County resident, he grew up on the family farm east of Lamar, graduated from Lamar High School in 1969, and served in the National Guard at Camp Clark. In addition to farming, Tom worked in the water department for the city of Lamar for more than twenty-five years. Always active in his community, Tom served as a Boy Scout leader for many years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, a charter member of Barton County Eagles and Lamar Elks Lodge. An avid outdoorsman, Tom greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include two sons, Kevin (Misty) Lee, Lamar and Eric (Nico) Linsteadt, Liberal; two daughters, Kerrie (David) Hendrix, Springfield and Kim Hudson, Liberal; his brother, Carrol (Barb) Lee, Lamar; 12 grandchildren, Hanna, Devin, & Austin Hendrix, Dakota, Colton, & Maddie Linsteadt, Johnathon, Kyleigh, & Dawson Lee, Kyly (Jared) Gunter, Haily (Brian) Williams, and Cambrin (Sarah) Hudson; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Bonnie Baggs Lee.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 19th at Morehead Cemetery with Jarod Lamb officiating.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Daniel Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Lee family in care of the funeral home.
