Betty Rand

Betty Jean Rand, age 81, of Carterville, MO went to be with the Lord on January 7, 2015. Betty was born May 9, 1933 in Southwest City, MO and lived most of her life in the Joplin area. Betty started and managed several area businesses. She was most proud of her development of the Latch Key Program for Oak Hill Hospital. Betty was a longtime member of Alba Christian Church. She was actively involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.

Betty married Charles “Red” Rand on July 13, 1963 and he survives. Betty is also survived by four daughters, Debi Greek and husband Garry, Jamie Aggus and husband Warren, Bobbie Dykens, and Paula McCloud and husband David, one sister, Martha Andrews, one brother, Bart Jones, 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Josephine Ramey, her father, Bart Jones, a brother, Jim Jones, a son-in-law, Bob Dykens, a grandson, Joshua Dykens, and a granddaughter, Cassie Dykens.

Memorial services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 10th at Alba Christian Church with visitation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alba Christian Church building fund. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Crematory, Joplin, MO
