Howard “Rick” Pohlman, Jr., 57, Carthage, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Mercy Hospital, Joplin. Howard Richard Pohlman, Jr. was born October 11, 1957 in Sidney, Nebraska; a son of the late Howard R. Pohlman, Sr. and Floriene McClary Pohlman. Rick was employed with Bob’s Detail Shop, Joplin, Steadley Co., Carthage and the Tilton & Son house movers, Carthage. He married Brenda Dunkle on November 11, 1992; she survives.
Additional survivors include two sons; Kenneth Lee (Lori) Spurgeon and Keith Eugene (Dawn) Spurgeon, both of Reeds, MO; three sisters, Sharon (Joe) Pagan, Debbie McCulley and Coliene (Tiny) Murphy, all of Topeka, KS; two brothers, Bennie McGahey and Bill Pohlman, both of Topeka, KS; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robin Scott Pohlman.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 7:00 PM, Wednesday, January 28 at Knell Mortuary, Carthage, MO. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 31 at Reed’s Cemetery, Reeds, MO.
