Kathryn Roberta Rose was born November 23, 1929 at Lamar, MO to Horace and Della (Machesney) Rose. She graduated Lamar High School in 1947 and began work at Pahlow and Pahlow where she was employed for 55 years. On January 17, 1955 she married L.W. “Dub” Kentner Jr. at Lamar, and they raised two children in their 58 years together.
Kathryn was a devoted wife and mother who took great pride in her children and grandson. Kathryn’s kitchen was famous for her gravy, apple cake, and canned vegetables from Dub’s garden
Survivors include one son, Don and Shelley Kentner of Liberal, MO; one daughter, Deborah Kentner of Lamar; one grandson, Kyle Wakefield Kentner of Liberal; one sister, Jean Smith of Kansas City, MO; one brother, Fred Rose of Hemet, CA.
Kathryn was preceded in death by Dub, her parents, and two brothers, Quinton and Carl Rose.
Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Daniel Funeral Home with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
