Bobbie Jean Treece Campbell, age 71 of Joplin, passed away at 9:20 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Landmark Hospital after an illness.
Born August 19, 1943 in Tallahassee, FL, she was the only child of Robert C. Treece and Dorothy Jean Brashear Treece and was a lifelong Joplin resident. Bobbie graduated from Joplin High School and received her Bachelor degree in teaching from MSSU. She worked as a realtor for Charles Burt and as a receptionist for Arkle Shelter Insurance agency, before working as a Kansas State employee in the Columbus, KS SRS office, from which she retired. She was a member of Forest Park Baptist Church.
Bobbie loved gardening and travel, especially with her best friend Gaylene. Some of their favorite trips included a Caribbean Cruise, Palm Springs, Mt. Ranier and all over the Washington state. An animal lover, she also enjoyed her cats, Simon, Miss Kitty and Baby; and her dogs, Shy and L.D.
Survivors include two sons, Dustin Campbell and wife Stacey, Jason Campbell all of Joplin; her daughter, Kris Campbell of Joplin; four grandchildren, Madelynn Martin, Reed, Katie and Chloe Campbell.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Forest Park Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. John Swadley officiating. Interment will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial contributions are suggested to Forest Park Baptist Church or Joplin Humane Society.
