Thelma Isabelle Gordon, age 84 of Joplin passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at National Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Joplin.
Thelma was born April 6, 1930 in DeWitt, Missouri to the late Paul Ketron and Betsy Barker Ketron. She was a homemaker, raising her 10 kids and supporting her husband.
She married Clyde Gordon on October 29, 1946 in Joplin and he preceded her in death on May 13, 1977. She is also preceded in death by three children, Trudy Mae Daniels, Michael Gordon and Wyatt Gordon.
Thelma loved gardening, telling stories, and spending time with her family. She touched the lives of many with her sense of humor, and her compassionate and loving nature
Survivors include daughters, Dohanna Self and husband, Bill of Springfield, MO., Hally Alexander and husband, Don of Neosho; sons, Llewellyn of Joplin, Stacey and wife, Tina of Chicago, IL, Scott and fiance’, Angie of Baxter Springs, KS, Steven of Joplin and Robin of Joplin; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-greatgrandchild; sisters, Wilma Long, Margie Sander, Mrytle Merle and Vera Wormington, all of Joplin; many extended family.
Services will be held Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow at Osborne Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Parker's.
