(From Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home)Mary Lee (Crossland) McKee, 99, of Joplin (formerly of Monett) passed from this life to her eternal home on Tuesday June 8, 2021.
She was born on December 8, 1921 in Emboden, Arkansas. Mary was one of 10 children born to B.E. and Ida (Ellis) Crossland.
Mary graduated from Aurora High School in 1942. During WWII she worked at an ammunition plant in Tulsa, Oklahoma contributing her part to the war effort.
On October 4, 1946 she married Clyde S. McKee. He preceded her in death on December 17, 1994. One daughter, Ida (McKee) Pasmore was born to this union.
Mary was co-owner of the McKee Maytag Appliance Store in Monett, Missouri. She also helped and worked along side her husband on the McKee Farms.
Mary was a wonderful mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and homemaker. She attended the Fundamental Methodist Church in Monett and was a chapter member and faithful volunteer at the Monett Senior Citizens Center.
Mary was also preceded in death by her step-son: Sonny McKee and step-daughter: Jo Ann Grove, four brothers: Henry, Bert, Jim and Charles Crossland, four sisters: Naomi Crider, Viola Edwards Froese, Anna Maples and Alice Rinker and one dear friend, Harlan Barekman.
She is survived by her daughter Ida (McKee) Pasmore of Joplin; granddaughters: Julie Larkin and husband Lonnie of Baltimore, Maryland, Kristen Pasmore of Chicago, Illinois, two great grandchildren: Lindsey and Brady Larkin of Baltimore and one brother: J.R. Crossland of Bates City, Missouri.
Visitation for Mary is being held on Friday June 11, 2021 from 12:30p.m. to 1:30p.m. at the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett, Missouri. Graveside services are being held on Friday June 11, 2021 at 2:00p.m. at the Monett I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Monett, Missouri.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett, Missouri.
