(From Derfelt Funeral Home)Barton David Outt left this world surrounded by his family at 8:28am August 6, 2021 after a long, courageous health battle over the last three years.
David was born September 26, 1957 to Nelson (Dick) and Virginia (Judy) Downs Outt. He was a lifelong resident of the area. David married the love of his life Mary Ellen Murray on August 28, 1976. Together they built a loving family of their four children, 15 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. David enjoyed demolition derbies, monster trucks, Kansas City Chiefs, and watching his kids and grandkids sports.
David is survived by his wife Mary Ellen Outt, Webb City, four children Gladys Shallenburger & husband Tommy, David Nelson Outt & wife Kristi, Virginia Smith & fiancé Barney, and Kayla Bresee, 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and extended family who he loved dearly. David is also survived by his two sisters Linda Higganbotham & husband Joe, and Sandra Lucas.
David was preceded in death by his parents Nelson and Virginia Outt and his brother Richard Outt.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 am, Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Lowell Cemetery, Lowell, KS. Casey Davidson will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Monday, August 9, 2021 at Derfelts Baxter Chapel, Baxter Springs, KS.
