(From Daniel Funeral Home)Edgar "Ed" Glenn Harvey Emery of Lamar, Missouri, left the brokenness of our world and became fully whole with his Heavenly Father on Friday, August 6, 2021, at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. By God's grace he was surrounded by his loving family and upheld in the prayers and love of many in his final moments on this earth. He was 71 years old.
Ed was born on May 25, 1950, the son of Frank and Helen (Faith) Emery and grew up in Nevada, Missouri. He graduated from the University of Missouri at Rolla and moved to New Orleans to work in the petroleum industry.
It was there he met and fell in love with Rebecca Ann Meredith, whom he married on June 3, 1978. They went on many adventures together and included their children as they were born, continuing to adventure and travel together over the past several years.
Ed spent 22 years working for Texaco. His engineering career moved him from place to place and God used him mightily in the lives of everyone he encountered. He left to move back to Missouri in 1994 to raise his children and be closer to his aging parents. Ed never truly stopped working and pursued every endeavor with the energy and commitment, working as to the Lord, not for men.
